Objectives The objective of the subject “Communication Networks and Services II” is the knowledge of the concepts involved in the Integrated Services and Networks and Quality of Service. To achieve it, real cases are analysed in their normative context. Being concrete:
* The standardisation processes and organisations.
* The services and their characterisation in terms of Quality of Service (QoS).
* Specification and Provision of QoS.

* Need of the standardisation and regulation.
* Standardisation Organisations: ISO-IEC. ITU. ETSI. ANSI. ISOC. IEEE.
* Study Case (a communication standard analysis).

Introduction to Networks Services and QoS (1,0 cdr):
* Concepts of Interface/Service and Integrated Service.
* Frame relay service
* Classification and structure of services

QoS Specification and Provision techniques (1,5 cdr):
* QoS Specification
* QoS Provision
* Study Cases: MetroEthernet, ATM and Internet QoS.
